Recreational Grassroots Soccer Program Overview:

Welcome to our Recreational Soccer Program, designed for young players. Our goal is to create a lively and exciting learning atmosphere for families. We emphasize skill development and aim to foster a genuine love for the beautiful game. Through our game-based curriculum, we encourage players to embrace mistakes, express creativity, and grow into confident and brave athletes Our program is built on player development following four key coaching principles:

  1. Players experience joy through Hard Work and Effort
  2. Players build confidence through Positive Team Spirit.
  3. Players grow most through Positive Coaching.
  4. Players thrive when Learning and Improving is continuous.

Program Timeline:

  • Our program is 12 weeks.
  • The league season runs Oct to Feb
  • Game Day - Saturday
  • Jamboree on Feb 8 at Millennium Place

Technical Overview and Commitment:

  • Frequency: One session per week, each session is half training and half games.
  • Session Duration: Sessions are approximately 55 minutes.
  • Game Play: 3v3

League Participation:

  • Features 12 sessions, all held in Sherwood Park.
  • Scores are not kept in this league.

Coaching:

  • Parents play a big role in our program, taking on the role of Game Lead in this program. Game Lead will receive a rebate for their child’s fee should they volunteer to coach their child’s team. Sessions will be provided each week. On Field support from our Technical Staff, Jr. Coaches, Jr. Tech and Program Director will also be given at sessions.

Equipment and Fees:

  • Your registration covers a team kit (jerseys, shorts, socks), training costs, field rental, team equipment, coach rebate, ASA membership, and insurance.

*Please Note: players are required to provide shin pads and footwear (does not need to be a soccer cleat, a form of running shoe will be fine at this age) *

Schedule and Changes:

Cancellations may occur due to extreme winter weather or poor road conditions. Where possible, we will try to reschedule.
