Age Group: U8 (Birth Year - 2017)

Recreational Grassroots Soccer Program Overview:

Welcome to our Recreational Soccer Program, designed for young players in the U8 age group (Birth Year - 2017). Our goal is to create a lively and exciting learning atmosphere for families. We emphasize skill development and aim to foster a genuine love for the beautiful game. Through our game-based curriculum, we encourage players to embrace mistakes, express creativity, and grow into confident and brave athletes. Player development is the heart of our program, guided by our 4 Pillars of Coaching:

1. Players Experience FUN: We want you to enjoy the game while also building a strong work ethic.
2. Players Connect through Positive Team Spirit: We focus on building camaraderie and teamwork through shared experiences- "igniting the furnace of human connection"
3. Players demonstrate growth with Positive Coaching: We support personal and skill development through positive reinforcement.
4. Player commitment increases when Learning and Improving is frequent: We aim to nurture a culture of continuous improvement and dedication to the sport.

Program Timeline:

• The program spans approximately 10 weeks (End of April - First Week of July):
• League season Monday & Wednesday Evenings in May and June.
• League Ending Jamboree on June 22 & 23.
  • *Jamboree will have food, bouncy castles, other activities and options for the whole family to take part, while the kids play multiple games over the two days.*

**Potential Preseason session in April weather and space permitting**

Technical Overview and Commitment:

• Frequency: Two sessions per week- One day of Training (Cohort - Tech Staff Supported) & One Day for Game.
• Days: Mondays & Wednesdays
• Session Duration: Training sessions last approximately 1 hour & Games 1 Hour.
• Match Play: 5v5 (4v4 plus Keeper)

League Participation:

• We are proud members of the Phoenix Football Club (PFC) Recreation League, featuring:
• Approximately 16 sessions (8 Training and 8 Games) for the season.
• All sessions will be within the Sherwood Park Area.
• Please note, at this age group, there is no Alberta Soccer Association provincial championship and scores/standings are not kept.

Coaching:

• Parents play a big role in our program, taking on the role of Head Coach & Assistant Coach in this program.
• Head Coaches will receive a rebate for their child’s fee should they volunteer to coach their child’s team.
• Sessions will be provided each week.
• On Field support from our Technical Staff, Jr. Coaches, Jr. Tech and Program Director will also be given at sessions.

Equipment and Fees:

• Your registration covers a team kit (jerseys, shorts, socks), training costs, field rental, team equipment, coach rebate, ASA membership, and insurance.

Schedule and Changes:

• Cancellations may occur due to bad weather, poor air quality and extreme heat.
• We will try to reschedule when we can on the same days as much as possible, but it's not always guaranteed

Early-Bird Price: $330.00 (Feb. 10 - Feb. 26, 2025)

Regular Price: $355.00 (Feb. 27 - Mar. 31, 2025)

Volunteer Fee: $100.00 (3 Hours Required)

Payment Details:

Initial Payment: $150.00 (Program Fee Deposit) + $100.00 (Volunteer Fee)

Second Payment: $102.50 on April 30, 2025

Third Payment: $102.50 on May 30, 2025
