Job Posting: Recreational Program Director  

Phoenix FC - Sherwood Park, Alberta

Position Summary 

Phoenix FC is seeking a passionate and organized Recreational Program Director to lead and manage our U4-U19 recreational soccer programs, including over 200 teams annually. This leadership role focuses on program delivery, staff coordination, and member engagement, contributing directly to the positive experience of players, families, and coaches.  This would be a flexible full-time position based on 37.5 hours a week work schedule. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee operations of the youth recreational soccer program  
  • Serve as the main contact for recreational programs, coordinate program schedules, communications, and logistics. 
  • Lead and support on-field sessions, including seasonal coach development and training support. 
  • Manage junior coaching staff and technical support for both recreational and entry-level competitive programs. 
  • Support special events, camps, and community outreach initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with administrative, technical, and executive staff on cross-club initiatives. 
  • Regularly review workflows to prioritize and manage seasonal tasks and timelines. 

Required Certifications 

  • CSA Children’s Diploma and/or C Diploma OR willingness to acquire. 

Required Competencies 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Leadership and team coordination ability 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to adapt to evolving program needs and priorities 
  • Comfort working evenings and weekends during peak programming 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, and common communication platforms 

Desirable Skills, Experience & Education 

  • Recreational Administration, Phys. Ed. Degree or equivalent.  
  • Experience in grassroots or community sport programming 
  • Experience playing or coaching soccer 
  • Familiarity with RAMP registration system 
  • Knowledge of youth sport development models 
  • Comfort using video editing tools (e.g., iMovie, Trace, YouTube) for program promotion 

Compensation & Benefits 

Annual Salary: $55000-$65000 range based on experience & qualifications 

Vacation: 3 weeks paid vacation
