Community Modified Training/Games Outline

For Who?
U9 - U19 Players (Born 2012 - 2001)

 

About

During this Outdoor season, players will participate in stimulating practices Lead by SPDSA Technical Coaches that will teach basic technical skills in a challenging atmosphere.  Modified Games will also be part of the program with no stats or standings. 

 

SPDSA will be following the strict guidelines set by Alberta Health Services and Alberta Soccer Association. These include:

  • 50 or less players including staff and players
  • All cohort groups must be a minimum 30 feet apart
  • Maximum 1 hour sessions
  • Screening protocols and questionnaire

 

Program Entry

This program is open to all individuals interested in the Community program based on aged offered.  Current players registered in or for the Outdoor Season are automatically entered in this program unless they have asked for a refund.  Based on available spots spaces will be available to anyone not currently registered.   Our goal is that every athlete is placed in the most appropriate environment based on age and a holistic four corner approach - Technical, Physical, Mental, and Social aspects.

Coaching
Each group will be led by a SPDSA Technical Lead and are supported by one or two Senior qualified coaches.

The Season
Season Length - 8 Weeks (16 Sessions) - Start June 22, End August 19.    

Frequency - 2 times per week, 1 hour per session (One Practice, One Game)

Practices will be Monday and Tuesday, Games Wednesday and Thursday

Days of Play

U9 - Tuesdays and Thursdays

U11 - Monday and Wednesdays

U13 - Tuesdays and Thursdays

U15 - Monday and Wednesdays

U17/U19 - Tuesday and Thursdays

 

Structure

Games will be based on the number of players registered.  U9/U11 will be 7v7 or 8v8, U13 - U19 will be either 7v7, 8v8 or 11 v 11.

 

Cancelled Sessions

Sessions may be made up until August 23 based on availability. Sessions may be cancelled due to any weather-related issue, including Thunder, Lightning, Fields closed due to moisture, etc.).  SPDSA will do their best to make up any cancelled sessions later in the summer.

 

COVID-19

Players MUST stay home if showing any kind of symptoms or signs of COVID-19. Players will be expected to follow a screening protocol and a questionnaire, prior to each session or game. If a player was to show any symptoms during a session they will be asked to go home and will NOT be able to return for 14 days. The safety of our players and staff is our biggest priority for SPDSA.

 

Registration Fees - $210, once registered for this program refunds will not be issued.

BOTH WAIVERS MUST BE COMPLETED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN, AND SUBMITTED TO THE OFFICE.
