As COVID-19 continues to evolve, the SPDSA will publish updates here, about our programs and the various soccer leagues in and around the area.  We will also post updates from Alberta Soccer and Canada Soccer, as we receive them.

The SPDSA's Community League that was scheduled to start late April or early May, will be postponed until mid June or when the County of Strathcona re-opens outdoor facilities.    We are working with both EIYSA and EMSA, on a potential start date for the Phoenix program, and they are exploring all options on what the season could look like.    As we get more information, we will share it with our members.

The office continues to be closed to the public, and staff are working remotely.  The staff can still be reached by phone or email, Tuesday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

To SPDSA Members

As per the Board of Directors’ recent message, I wanted to further update our members that the staff have been working on alternatives for an outdoor season.   Although we remain optimistic, we must be practical and plan for modifications due to COVID-19.  The SPDSA is committed to do everything possible to have our players active and on the fields again.

Strathcona County recently announced that fields will remain closed until June 15th. We are working with the County and enquired whether they may open fields earlier if conditions improve with COVID-19.  They advised that it is a possibility.  In light of this recent announcement about the June 15th date, we are considering an outdoor season to run during the summer months; possibly July and August or August and September.

In order to finalize the option of a summer league, we would appreciate it if each of our members would take a few minutes to complete the following brief survey.  The results from the survey will help us determine the viability of a summer league.

You can access the survey at this link:  http://www.spdsa.net/form/4137

The deadline to respond to the survey is Friday April 3rd.
