2022 Outdoor Phoenix "Dedicated Player Program" Outline
For Who?
U17/18+ male and female players born 2005 or Earlier
About
An opportunity for current or former Phoenix Youth Players and outside members to be able to remain in a positive, consistent and structured training environment. As players transition from Youth to Adult programming, players will be given the opportunity to train and compete with the frequency and quality of coaching they experienced throughout their youth careers. The DEDICATED PLAYER PROGRAM initiative will provide players with a home for their grade 11/12 year and beyond where they can continue to improve, be challenged, and play under the Phoenix badge. This program is being offered year-round to continue the development of players during a critical time-period prior to joining or returning to university programming.
Program Entry
Open Registration through the SPDSA website. Selections to the program will be based upon previous in-season and pre-season on-field assessments by the SPDSA Phoenix Adult Director and SPDSA Technical Staff.
Coaching
The SPDSA DEDICATED PLAYER PROGRAM Program will be led by Andreas Shilin (Phoenix Adult Director) supported by SPDSA Technical Staff.
The Season
The season will consist of training 2-3 training sessions per week as a group. Players will have opportunities to play with the Phoenix Adult program in EDSA Programming. Strength & Conditioning training at the SPDSA Training Facility will also be available for interested players.
