Assessment Criteria (Click link to access criteria document.)

Player Assessment at Phoenix Soccer Club.

The criteria document is a resource representing the four pillars of player development based on the CSA model of long-term player development (LTPD). These pillars are the technical, tactical, physical and mental attributes and behaviors we want to grow in our players on their journey as soccer athletes. The indicators listed in the criteria describe the behaviors assessors are looking for during assessments in order to arrive at a comparison amongst the group of players being assessed. The more indicators seen, the higher the category score. Please note that the assessment is only a snapshot of the player's performance, and we recognize that no assessment is error free. We try to minimize error by having multiple assessors who speak prior to, during, and after the assessment as a means of reaching consensus. Returning players will have the previous season’s experience and evidence as part of their assessment process thus shifting the focus of the assessment on new players who did not participate in the previous season.
