Our Technical Director Bart Choufour is leading a series of 1 v 1 domination camps in the first week of July together with an integrated goalkeeping camp led by Director of Goalkeeping Lars Hirschfeld. Supported by other Full-Time SPDSA coaching staff. The goalkeepers will get specific goalkeeping training focused on reaction as well as will be integrated into the 1 v 1 shooting and break away activities.
Why 1 v 1? 1 v 1 attacking and defending skills are the base of everything:1) It allows you to evade pressure and protect the ball, 2) A team of good 1 on 1 players is much better able to control possession, 3) Good 1 on 1 and evading skills allows you and your team mates to play out of all kinds of difficult situations, 4) Beating an opponent with 1 on 1 skills may create an overload or a shooting opportunity, 5) By being able to change direction and angles while evading pressure, you can also develop into a good passing player. Obviously, while working on your 1 v 1 attacking skills, you will also get better at your 1 v 1 defending skills.
